Have had the car here in Qatar for a month now, took a little to get used to, it does feel like a truck at times! Slightly clipped the curb doing about 22-30 mph and not only snapped a corner off the rim but this caused a gash in the tire, hmmm. All replaced now but all bling and not much ruggedness. Anyway, I really love this SUV, had a Toyota previously and now they look like a WWII jeep.

Surprised at how little compartment space there is, not even the manual and other material supplied fit in the glove compartment and the center compartment (split in two) isn't much good for anything after you've stored the headphones.

I have to love this car but I'm sure Cadillac could do better, could really do with the bluetooth and ipod connectivity (why is the front aux not on my model?). I also wish the 2 second turn indicator was actually a little more than 2 seconds.

I also agree with the recirculate comment - this is the first car I've owned that it doesn't even work. This is basic stuff guys and I think a free fix is in order! There's some pretty ugly smells I have to drive through here in Doha in the mornings and when I push that recirc button (when I've found it) I expect it to work.

While I'm having a moan, what is it with the hand brake release? I'll accept it may be a safety feature to have it completely hidden from view but this is taking it a bit far.

Other than these issues, I feel great driving this vehicle, should come with wind visors as standard though. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5, let the Japanese perfect it.

I thought the ride would be much smoother like a hybrid, but it rides high like a truck. It doesn't really bother me that I am bouncing side to side on turns. I just don't like bouncing so high on bumps.

I like the large wheels and alloy rims. The speaker system sounds great.

I don't mind getting 12 mpg since I drive mostly short distances where I need to dart in and out of traffic. For that purpose this caddy purrs like a kitten.

Fair and Balanced Review

Pros: Very comfortable captain chairs, lots of features such as A/C seats, navigation, XM, DVD
Cons: Second row room a little snug, no third row power option, limited cargo space.

Overall, it is an excellent ride. Rides like a BMW with the power of 400 HP. Very agile, smooth ride. A/C turns cold very quickly. Seats are very comfortable (expecially with them long rides). Bose sound system is simply great. We do need to get iPod intergation with future models though. Great eye candy and attention getter.

However, there is no third row power option and the second row leg room is a little limiting. Navigation does not offer traffic conditions like other less expensive models. The recirculate air feauture is also a weakness as you can smell outside odors even with this feature on. Gas mileage is also a bummer, but if you can afford to buy/lease this car, then you can afford the gasoline!

Regardless, a great automobile!

We love to love this truck, but poor build quality

Great truck, good space, very comfortable, we like it

We came to the US from Europe last year and bought this truck for my wife, I bought a BMW like always.

We love this truck because it is big and comfortable.

But seriously, the trim and build quality is not what we are used to at all - several minor faults, one major transmission failure, some pieces of trim have broken off. You couldn't sell a car with this quality in Europe...

The Escalade 2008
Pros: Best Looking SUV ever with all its chrome, geniously designed, very comfortable,GPS, excellent sound
Cons: Third row only for kids and cargo space not enough for shoppers or travellers

I drove a Yukon Denali 2007 for seven month before switching to the Escalade 08. With all due respect to the Denali which by the way looks excellent, the Escalade is just a class on its own. Takes off more easily, agile and very smooth on the road. After all, it commands more respect than any other SUV.
I just luv it
